About AYS
Who We Are & What We DoAlliance for Youth Service (AYS) is a nonprofit service organization that offers humanitarian expeditions to youth ages 16-19. Each summer, AYS leaders take groups of about 17 youth and 3-4 adult coaches to exciting destinations.
Expeditions are limited to three action-packed weeks of service. Typically, one day is set aside for site-seeing, but the AYS experience is designed to serve our less fortunate brothers and sisters in the most poverty-stricken areas of the world. Expeditions are carefully planned and organized to allow participants to see their work through to completion whether it be building a house, school, medical clinic, or teaching street children marketable and self-sustaining skills.
In addition to a little touring and a lot of hard work, AYS participants are rewarded by building relationships LDS youth in other parts of the world, participating in FHE at members' homes, and contributing to Sunday firesides. Most important, we at AYS believe that acts of service open our hearts to the Spirit. Testimonies are built during AYS service trips through nightly devotionals, daily scripture study, church attendance, and (where possible) temple proxy baptisms.
We hope you'll join us for what truly is the opportunity of a lifetime.
