Raise Funds for AYS and Receive a Discount on an Expedition
You may not believe it, but many youth have gone on our trips with little or no expense to themselves. How? By becoming a volunteer AYS fundraiser.
Volunteers that raise funds for AYS will receive a discount on the cost of an expedition based on reaching fund raising goals. The following guidelines apply:
Fundraising Goals:
| Fundraising Attainment | Discount on expedition costs |
| $500-749 | $500 |
| $750-999 | $750 |
| $1000-1499 | $1000 |
| $1500-1999 | $1500 |
| $2000-2499 | $2000 |
| $2500 and up | $2500 or maximum cost of trip whichever is less |
For Example, If the cost of the trip is $2,495 and you solicit donations in the amount of $1,600 for AYS, you will receive a discount of $1,500 toward the expedition of your choice. Your cost to participate in the expedition would only be $995 ($2,495-$1,500).
We have created a packet with suggestions and sample letters to help you request contributions from your family, friends, employers, community, businesses, etc. In addition, we have also included other ideas from the past volunteers to help you raise funds for AYS. You'll be surprised at how many people will want to help. Don't let the cost alone keep you from joining us!
Remember, when friends, family and businesses realize that you are donating your time to provide needed humanitarian service and that they can receive a tax deduction for their contribution, they will want to help.
